The passion makers

Our teachers are the lifeblood of Inter Flow Languages! And so, we don't employ just any one. Our teachers are hand picked, with a focus on being passionate about sharing their language and culture with our community and an energy that would give Blippi a run for their money!

To be a teacher for Inter Flow Languages, they must:

Be a native speaker or fluent in the language they are teaching
Be passionate about teaching
Be trained in the Inter Flow Languages learning philosophy
Possess a Working with Children check

Meet The Team

Carmela Harivel-Schlegel

Languages fluent in: Swiss German (native), German, French, Italian, English

Professional background: Qualified Primary School teacher of 14 years, experienced High School teacher, mother of 2

Why she teaches languages: I love to share my passion for teaching and learning foreign languages. Through travelling, I have enjoyed many beautiful moments of connecting with people around the world. Knowing another language broadens your horizon and helps you understand different cultural backgrounds and traditions. On a everyday basis, I experience children gaining more confidence, acceptance and flexibility in their way of thinking and learning.

I am forever grateful that my children have the opportunity to grow up bilingual.

Anne Robert

Languages fluent in: French (native), Spanish, English, Mandarin

Professional background: currently studying BA of Psychology (Honours) at Western Sydney University

Why she teachers languages: I love teaching languages because it brings new challenges every day and it is fun working with a bunch of different kids. Learning a new language broadens children's sense of cultural understanding and it is extremely rewarding seeing them grow and acquire new skills throughout the lessons.

Favourite saying: "C'est la vie!" - "That's life!"

Elisa Coppacchioli

Professional background: University educated, certified Accountant, mother of 1

Why she teaches languages: It's a fun experience away from numbers and tax

Favourite saying: "Sarà quel che sarà" - "whatever will be, will be"

Catherine (Cathy) Villegas Escobar

Languages fluent in: Spanish (native), English

Professional background: Bachelor of Education, Masters in Senior Management of Educational Establishments, specialism in Montessori and Waldorf education, children's yoga instructor and a Mum

Why she teaches languages: I strongly believe we are not from a specific country but we do belong to the same planet and earth. Languages open so many doors.

Maddalena Rossi

Languages fluent in: Italian (native), English, French

Professional background: University educated, career in marketing and fundraising, mother of 2

Why she teaches languages: I have a passion for foreign languages because that can transmit so much about a culture. I believe that learning a second or multiple languages really helps to open your mind and actually stretches your brain flexibility

Favourite saying: "Cio che non uccide fortifica" - "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger"

Connie Mounier

Languages fluent in: English (native), French

Professional background: I was born in Australia to Italian parents. I spent seven years living in France with my French husband and our daughter. During that time, I pursued university studies in French and worked as an English language assistant in both primary and high schools. Since returning to Australia, I have worked at the same school for the past 22 years.

Why she teaches languages: I love teaching children and making it fun and interesting to learn languages!

Mish Ryan

Languages fluent in: Portuguese (native), English, Italian

Professional background: Degree in Communications, many years of creating children's events that foster learning through fun and play, Mum of 2

Why she teaches languages: I love teaching children because I believe that play is one of the most effective ways for them to learn. When we have fun together, not only do they enjoy the experience, but they all absorb knowledge naturally and effortlessly

Favourite saying: "Playing is learning" It captures my belief that through play, children develop skills, creativity and knowledge in a joyful and engaging way

Monika Bryant

Languages fluent in: German (native), English, Polish

Professional background: I attended university in Germany in the topic of high school teaching prior to moving to Australia. I have also tutored German high school students in English, coach and manage kids' soccer teams and a mother of 2

Why she teaches languages: I was lucky to grow up bilingual and I see a great benefit in knowing multiple languages. In European schools, it is compulsory to learn at least one language and I'd love to see the same opportunities provided in Australian schools. Plus I love working with kids!

Favourite saying: "Alles hat ein Ende - nur die Wurst hat zwei!" - "Everything has an end, only a sausage has two!"

Vicky Daniele

Languages fluent in: Italian (native), English

Professional background: I worked in primary education for 25 years and am now retired, enjoying life as a proud grandmother to 7 grandchildren.

Why she teaches languages: As a native Italian speaker, I love teaching my language because it allows me to be around children. I make learning Italian fun by incorporating games into my lessons!

Favourite saying: Giocando si impara! - By playing you learn!

Stephanie (Fen) Kang

Languages fluent in: Mandarin (native), English

Professional background: a mum of 2 from Maroubra, with a Bachelors degree in teaching Chinese as a foreign language, and a Masters degree in TESOL from the University of Liverpool. She used to teach Mandarin in schools around Liverpool and has more than ten years of teaching experience in Chinese universities.

Why she teaches languages: Teaching a foreign language is not only about the language itself, it's also about the greater understanding and appreciation of different cultures and customs.

Favourite saying: Teaching a man to fish is better than giving him a fish!
